Tiny consistent Changes

Making big changes that you can’t sustain doesn’t get you where you want to go.

Don't try to do all of it at once. Seriously. I know my people. Back to school tends to trigger this "time to get serious" thing in y'all (even those without kids or school to go back to!).

The plans are made to eat better, exercise 9 zillion days in a row and get completely organized. Then it lasts for like 4 days and everyone collapses exhausted and feeling bad that it didn't work.

But the truth is those "change all the things at once" plans NEVER work. They aren't sustainable.

Instead ask yourself "what is one small thing I can do today that is easy and repeatable?".

  • Is it a walk for 5 minutes?

  • Clean off the desk for 10 minutes?

  • Get the mail?

  • Go to bed 15 minutes earlier?

Pick something that  is so easy that your brain thinks it "doesn't count". Do that thing for two weeks. If you’ve done it consistently 85% of the time, then you can add to it.

For example, let’s say that you want to exercise each day for 30 minutes. You pick a starting goal of walking 5 minutes a day. If at the end of your two weeks you’ve walked most of the days you can add more time.

Rinse and Repeat.

This is how sustainable habits are built.

P.S - Creating change is harder to do when you’re trying to do it by yourself. You can’t always see the actual cause of the pitfalls. If you want this to be faster, easier & more fun - book a coaching consultation. I can help you.
