Gall Bladder:Friend or Foe?

This is the gallbladder meridian and it can be your nemesis or your superpower.

The gallbladder meridian is a big meridian. It starts at the corner of the eye and works its way to the ear then zigzags across the temporal area along the shoulder muscles to the center of the butt and then continues all the way to the outside of the 4th toe.

When the Qi in the gallbladder meridian gets stuck, you could have an issue anywhere along this line. To name a few of the physical problems:

  • Headaches

  • Tense neck & Shoulders

  • Sciatica

  • Pain in the buttocks,hip,leg,knee & foot

  • TMJ/Jaw pain

And we haven’t even gotten to the emotional ramifications. These include:

  • Indecision

  • Lack of Confidence

  • Irritability

  • PMS

By now you may be wondering what the upside of this meridian is. Fear not the gallbladder meridian, for when it’s balanced we’re able to do amazing things. The gallbladder gives us courage and it helps us make clear decisions - without constant worry about all the “what ifs”. It helps us be brave enough to have a goal and to come up with the plan to get us there.

Basically, the gallbladder meridian gets us where we want to go.

But the trick is that it needs to be in good working order.

And for most of us, it’s one of the easiest meridians to get out of whack. The biggest culprit of this is shoving our feelings down instead of feeling them. This causes a backup along the meridian. Sort of like being stuck on a one lane road behind a car going 20 mph. It’s not good.

The fastest way out of that traffic jam is through it. Which means it may require some outside help.

This is where I come in. Acupuncture can help move the Qi. It works quickly, which is why I’m a big fan.

But if you want to stop the situation from happening in the first place, you’ll want to address the underlying problem and start feeling your feelings. For that, book a coaching consultation with me and we’ll come up with a customized plan - just for you.

Either way, I can help you.

P.S. - I am not talking about your gall bladder as an organ. If an acupuncturist tells you that you have something wrong with your gall bladder (or Liver, Heart etc) we do not mean that there is anything wrong with your actual organ. This is a common misunderstanding and I want to address it so as not to perpetuate it.
