Progress over Perfection: The Power of Small Wins

Do you know what kills dreams?

Perfection

My friends,

I know you're busy. You're juggling work, home, and everything else in between, especially during the busy holiday season. And on top of that, you're trying to do it all perfectly.

Which is why it’s tempting to just give up on something you want to do until January, when you have more time to devote to it.

Please don’t do that. Life is always going to be busy.

Instead, embrace progress over perfection.

Think about it, which are you realistically able to consistently find time for? Doing something for 10 minutes a day or doing it for 40 minutes?

Instead of stashing away your goals until you can execute them perfectly in January, give these tips a shot instead.

  • Set realistic expectations. The holidays are a time for family, friends, and festivities. Now is not the time to reorganize the spare closet.

  • Prioritize small, achievable steps. Break down your goals into smaller steps that you can easily accomplish during the busy holiday season. I’m a huge fan of adding things I’ve already completed just so I can cross them off!

  • Embrace flexibility. Things don't always go according to plan, especially during the holidays. Be prepared to adjust your schedule and goals as needed.

  • Celebrate your milestones. No matter how small, take a moment to appreciate your progress, even amidst the holiday rush. It helps you see how far you’ve come.

Remember, progress is progress, no matter how small. So, don’t wait for the 'perfect' moment—embrace progress now.
