The Power of And
Remember how I want you to avoid the word "should"?
Well, this week we’re going to talk about a word I want you to embrace - "AND."
"And" is a connector. It’s a bridge between seemingly conflicting ideas, a reminder that two different things can exist simultaneously, and that's perfectly okay.
Consider this: I love my dogs, AND I still don't always want to walk them. This simple statement encapsulates a truth that many of us grapple with daily—we can feel opposite emotions at once.
But instead of embracing "And," most of y’all embrace "Should." As in “I should want to walk the dogs because I love them.”
Which means you’re shoving down the actual feelings of “it’s cold and wet outside and I don’t want to leave my warm cozy house.”
My friends, remember the lessons we learned in March. Repressed emotions pop back up in uncomfortable ways.
So, the next time you catch yourself wrestling with conflicting emotions, remember the power of "And.” Okay?
The March 2025 version of you will thank you for it.
P. S. - THIS Schoolhouse Rock! song is now playing on a loop in my head. You’re welcome.
